Torchwood

Anyone who knows me knows I'm a huge Doctor Who fan, so when I got the chance to put some colours on Stephen Downey's Torchwood cover I was like a kid at Christmas. Had a real blast doing this, and you can find it in all good comic shops around October 31st :D

A big thank you to all who supported my head shave for the Irish Cancer Society. It was a huge success, and we managed to raise €486 :D

Nom Con

This is one of the sketches I did over the weekend at Nom Con.
Good craic; anime cons tend to be a lot...peppier than other cons. Still, I'll take any excuse to play with ink and washes all day. Really came across well, and congratulations to everyone who put it together.

In other news my site is now live at www.ciaranlucas.com
Let me know what you think of it ;)

Atomic Robo

So, Red 5 have put out a call for Atomic Robo pinups, and I'm a huge fan of Robo. Tinkering around with ideas for what to work up, and this was one of the things that happened. Might rework this to be my entry, but as it stands its hemorhaging mistakes. This is just an overworked doodle, so I'm cool with that.

DRAGON not lizard, I don't do that tongue thing.

also, THIS. Was giving a talk last week on my workflow, and this was the image I used as an example. Worked back into it since, and I'm quite proud of it. Hope y'all like it!

YOU HAVE SOMETHING IN YOUR HAIR

Quicky for today. That scene in Eternal Sunshine sprang to mind when they were under the duvet; the orangey lighting around that point of the movie was really interesting, generated a great sense of calm nostalgia. Without going to hard into that, I wanted to do something relaxed, and god forbid, HAPPY.

Yeah, I do love drawing hair. Why I gave Melissa the most masculine haircut imaginable is beyond me.

Still can't tell you what's coming up, but I'm totally stoked about it.

For now, for daytime jobiness I'm upskilling with as many tutorials as I can get my hands on, getting my website off the ground and getting ready to knock on the door of every publisher known to man.

Time to get good at what I'm good at, and get paid for being good. At least that's the plan.
